The Dirk Bogarde website was successfully hacked into this week. When interviewed, the site administrator said, " With over 2000 visitors a month this is our first Hacker. I suppose we must look at it as a form of flattery but it is much easier to use the front door to the site".

Several movie stars have found a second career as writers quite late in life, David Niven and Alec Guinness among them, but none more successfully than Dirk Bogarde with 15 volumes of memoirs, fiction and essays, and this outstanding collection of letters, scrupulously edited by John Coldstream.
